Telluride Lindy Society
Welcome

In 1963, the town of Telluride was designated a National Historic Landmark District. Three of our four dancing venues are in historic buildings from the old mining days and have their own unique charms.

Elk’s Lodge – Constructed around 1899, this edifice was originally the meeting hall of the Swede-Finn miners. Built with social gatherings in mind (including weekend dances), its wood floor, beautiful bar, and small stage make it a perfect spot for Friday's dance!

Sheridan Opera House – Built in 1913 by miners as a combination vaudeville and movie theatre, hundreds of world-class performers have graced the beautiful Sheridan Opera House’s stage, from Lillian Gish to Peter O’Toole to Los Lobos. In 1993 Cab Calloway’s daughter Chris performed Lady Sings the Blues here. It has a newly refinished wood floor and a sweet balcony for checking out everyone’s dance moves!

Ah Haa School - Relocated last year to the historic Rio Grande Southern Train Depot at the end of Townsend St., the Ah Haa School for the Arts fits perfectly into this 1891 building where we'll be dining and dancing on a wood floor.

Telluride Gondola Plaza - Located at the south end of Oak St. (i.e., the base of the gondola), we'll be dancing outdoors hail or shine!
